Dear Southwest Parents, Students, and Staff,

Welcome Back Sea Lions!
On behalf of our dedicated PTSA Board members, I would like to welcome back all of our returning students and families and extend a very heartfelt welcome to our new Sea Lions. This is going to be a FANTASTIC year! It is truly an honor to serve as the PTSA President this year. We are pleased to have a strong team of amazing officers and committee chairs as well as the support of the wonderful staff and administration here at Southwest Middle School.
We invite all of you to get engaged - this is a very important time in our children’s lives and your involvement means more to them than you can imagine. Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise that the support you give to the PTSA and the school will be worthwhile and FUN!
We have three ways you can get involved:
  • Become a PTSA member
  • Volunteer your time even if you only give 30 minutes your time, your ideas and your talents are needed and valued.
  • Attend the monthly meetings (second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm)

The purpose of the PTSA is to first and foremost support our students. In addition, we support the faculty, staff, parents and the local community. “Every Child, One Voice,” is the National PTSA motto and we are making sure we at Southwest Middle School provide a safe environment where higher learning, creativity and an appreciation for diversity lead to achievement for all our children.
I invite you to stay informed of our upcoming events as well as the school news by liking us on Facebook (Southwest Middle School PTSA).
Looking forward to a great year!
