Back To School Guide

Student Devices

If your child is withdrawing to attend another OCPS school or another county/state, please set an appointment to return their device to Southwest Middle School prior to the completion of the withdrawal process.

If your child's device needs to be repaired or replaced, please complete the process at your child's 2020-2021 school site. Students can begin the process by creating a ticket at The ticket will go to your child's 2020-21 school site. For example, an incoming 9th grader would have a ticket submitted at their High School and not their former Middle School.

Devices/Tech Help

We are currently waiting to get devices, however, if you are in need of Tech Help and have a student that is doing LaunchEd @ home, then please make an appointment here.

We are asking that only one parent/guardian accompanies their child for device pick up.  Parents and students will be required to wear a mask at all times. Student ID numbers are needed in order to check out a device.

A Parent Technology Media Information Consent Form (PTMICF) must be completed prior to arriving. Please print the completed document and bring it with you.  You can download the consent form here.

When arriving to pick up your child's device, please pull in to the car loop and remain in your car until our SWMS staff greets you with the next steps.

Skyward Family Access

See below to see the steps on how to access Skyward.

Family Access Quick Reference

OCPS parents of rising 7th grade students, the state of Florida requires that all students entering 7th grade must have the Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap) immunization. Your child MUST have this immunization in order to start the 7th grade. For more information, visit the

Florida Department of Health in Orange County site.

Sports Physical

If your child plans on trying out for soccer, volleyball, basketball, or track next year, then a complete Annual Sports Physical is required every year. All students participating in a sport at AMS must complete a satisfactory medical examination during each academic school year in which they plan to participate. The packet for the 2021-22 school year is now available. The physical is good for one entire school year, so we recommend that you get it completed over the summer and turn it in early to the front office. Specific tryout dates and sports' schedules will be available on the AMS website later this summer.
