Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am excited to announce that we are now an "A" school again! I would like to thank our students, staff, and parents for all of your hard work in helping us earn this distinction! We are thrilled to welcome our students and staff back to school. We hope that over the summer you were able to relax and make special memories with your friends and families. Now it is time to look forward to a wonderful new school year as we are the “SEALION NATION” at Southwest Middle School!
Our incredible staff have been working diligently throughout the summer to prepare classrooms for the new school year. We are grateful to our amazing custodial and office staff as they worked all summer getting our school in pristine shape.
Southwest Middle School is such a special place to learn and grow. We are proud of our beautiful school and have high expectations for each and every student. Our students are kind, compassionate, and eager to learn. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. This school year, we are creating a learning environment of "family." Our motto of being part of the "SEA LION NATION" will continue to guide our mission to provide a rigorous and joyful inclusive school environment. Our overarching goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.
This year, we will continue to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and respect within our school community. We believe in the power of teamwork and the significance of a strong partnership between home and school. I encourage you to actively engage in your child's education, maintain open lines of communication, and participate in school activities and events whenever possible. Together, we can provide the support and guidance that our students need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
