Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are thrilled to welcome our students and staff back to school. We hope that over the summer you were able to relax and make special memories with your friends and families. We are an “A” School again. Now it is time to look forward to a wonderful new school year as we continue to be the “SEALION NATION”!

Our incredible staff have been working diligently throughout the summer to prepare classrooms for the new school year. We are grateful to our amazing custodial and office staff as they worked all summer getting our school in pristine shape.

Southwest Middle School is such a special place to learn and grow. We are proud of our beautiful school and have high expectations for each and every student. Our students are kind, compassionate, and eager to learn. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. This school year we are creating a learning environment of “family.” Our motto of being part of the “SEALION NATION” will continue to guide our mission to provide a rigorous and joyful inclusive school environment. Our overarching goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.

This year, we will continue to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and respect within our school community. We believe in the power of teamwork and the significance of a strong partnership between home and school. I encourage you to actively engage in your child’s education, maintain open lines of communication, and participate in school activities and events whenever possible. Together, we can provide the support and guidance our students need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We encourage families to stay connected and informed by following our school webpage, Facebook page, Instagram, and to join our PTSA.
